MEN'S BOWLING TOURNAMENT-  Save the date...Sept 25 @ 5 pm at the AMF Bowling Center at 12100 Kilarney Dr, Fredericksburg, VA 22407.  Cost will be $12 per person (that is for shoe rentals & 2 hour lane rental). Sign up by September 22nd by clicking HERE.

MESSIAH IN THE FALL FESTIVALS EVENT  Rosh Hashanah (The Jewish New Year). Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement). Sukkot (Feast of Tabernacles). These names might be familiar to you if you’re browsing your iPhone calendar app. But unless you’re a Hebrew scholar or devoutly Jewish, you might not know much about them. Join us on Sunday October 10th at 6pm for a 45 minute engaging presentation from our friends at Chosen People Ministries entitled "Messiah in the Fall Festivals." We’ll gather in the Fellowship Hall to listen to missionary Elisabeta Karp share the gospel story in the Jewish holidays that Jesus celebrated while He walked on the earth. There will be special hands-on activities for the children.  Afterward, we’ll take a love offering for Chosen People Ministries and enjoy a dessert social. We look forward to learning alongside of you for what promises to be a terrific evening of growing in our faith!

NEW WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDY OPPORTUNITY  This group will meet on Thursday evenings at 6:30pm in the Small Dining Hall, with a start date in the next couple of weeks.   They will be using Jen Wilkins’ 1 Peter Bible Study.  This is the same study that the monthly Presbyterian Women’s group is using but we realize not everyone has availability for a day study, so would like to offer this in the evening as well. NOISY OFFERING  Every month on the second Sunday of the month, we collect our Noisy Offering which helps to fund our annual Rise Against Hunger food packing event.  As we approach this event in October our Missions Committee has indicated that we are still in need of funds to help pay for meals.  You can contribute by:

  • Putting your offering in the Noisy Offering cans in the Sanctuary on the 2nd Sunday of the month
  • Give online at https://onrealm.org/hopechurchva/-/give/now and choose “Noisy Offering” from the Fund drop down menu
  • Text HPCGive to 73256 (again…choose the Noisy Offering option)

ENDOWMENT FUND  The Finance Committee of Hope is in the early stages of setting up an Endowment Fund for the church.  We are seeking individuals who have financial or investment experience and knowledge to help with this task.  We believe the process should take about a year to get fully set up – possibly less time.  If you have any interest please contact Mary St. John at stjohnmp@comcast.net 

NURSERY WORKER NEEDED-  Hope is seeking a nursery employee who has availability on Sunday mornings from 8:45am-11:20am If you know of someone from Hope or another local congregation who would be interested in this position, please have them contact Melissa Kester at 898-4673 or Melissa@hopechurchva.org.
