We believe there are many ways in which followers of Jesus Christ express love and gratitude to God. One is to love our neighbors. Another is to observe the Bible’s directive to share the good news of Jesus Christ with others, both locally and abroad. These ends are met by means of what are usually referred to as “missions and outreach.” At HOPE there are numerous examples; in our own neighborhood we teach English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) and have taken it upon ourselves to “adopt” Battlefield Elementary School across the street. In the region we participate in Rebuilding Together and participate in a monthly downtown Fredericksburg dinner ministry in partnership with Micah Ecumenical Ministries.
On a broader scale HOPE sponsors several trips, usually ranging from 7-10 days, on a yearly basis. We have established relationships with churches and ministries in a wide range of places, from Maine in the U.S. to Haiti and Kenya overseas. We also partner with a variety of ministries locally, nationally and internationally. As you can see from the list and links below there is a wide array of ways to support, contribute toward, or participate in serving and ministering to others!
